We love to share good news of how we can help a customer save money! This past week we were called due to a very high water bill to keep the pool full – but no visible sign of a leak. As we have all the latest equipment we were able to do a full inspection and find out exactly what was causing the loss of water:
- We used our VILO – Vinyl Liner Scanner to ensure that the Vinyl Liner had no leaks.
- We Pressure tested the Skimmer suction line- and the pipe held pressure so no leaks detected.
- This pool had no lights or bottom drain to test.
- We Dye tested the fittings, skimmer and cracks in the steps of the pool – no leaks detected.
- We pressure tested the Return lines (3 returns in the pool) – and the return line would not hold any pressure – indicating a leak. We then used our Underwater Microphone to listen for the leak. We found the leak on the return line by the deep end Skimmer.
- For this homeowner, they decided to do the repair by themselves so we guided then through the process and gave as much information as we could to help make the repair successful.
- The leak was found approx. – 4-5 ft underground at the spot we marked out – not an easy repair at all! They had to cut the concrete, jackhammer the concrete out and then dig down to the leak. The hard PVC return line was laid next to the metal supports of the pool wall and over time created a leak.
