How do we find leaks in a pool?

Our team uses years of experience and specialized equipment to locate hard to find leaks in a pool:

  • Pool Return & Suction lines: We pressure test all the pool lines to determine if there is a leak on any of the pipes buried underground.  If the pressure test shows a leak -utilizing special listening equipment, we can locate the unique sound water leaking out of a pipe creates.  We use special cameras to visually inspect lines and locating equipment to find exactly where the camera is located underground.  This gives us the ability to accurately locate a leak and minimize the potential damage to your pool deck or yard during a repair.

  • Vinyl Liners: Using our equipment we can scan the entire vinyl liner.  This equipment is so sensitive that we can leaks as small as a pinhead.  We are then able to patch those holes to eliminate the leaks during our visit.

  • Structural elements: This part usually involves getting wet!  Our technician will examine all elements on the pool that could be causing a leak – this includes light fixtures, fittings, tiles, skimmers, and bottom drains.  Using leak dye, we can test these areas and look for signs of a leak – the dye will be sucked into the leak showing us exactly the area of concern.  Many of these structural issues can be fixed by our technician during the visit.

  • Water lines: Using our specialized equipment we can locate the unique sound created when water is leaking out of a pressurized line.  This allows us to accurately locate the leak and minimize the damage done to your home or yard during the plumbing repair.  This process works for slab leaks, water main leaks and many others.

  • Cause & Origin: These are leaks that seem to appear from no-where and have no easily identifiable cause.  We are able test the water lines for leaks and examine any other items that could be causing the water damage.  Cause & Origin leaks could be caused by a leak on the water lines or drain lines but can also be caused by things such as structural issues such as bad shower grout or AC condensation lines.  These leaks can also be caused by ground water – our inspection can help eliminate all possible sources of the leak so you can make a more informed decision on how to proceed.  Insurance companies will also hire us to identify the cause of leaks for insurance claims in a home.
