Today’s blog is about hiring the right company. For many of our leak detection clients, we are the 2nd or 3rd company called to find the leak – which results in unnecessary costs over the course of your leak!
Many pools I show up to have had someone “test for a leak” using food dye or some other method. They are then charged a fee (usually close to what we charge for a complete inspection) and only 1/2 of the possible leak areas have been checked, leaving many customers paying, but having no solution to the problem.
This same situation happened last week – a customer thought the leak was on a return line for their pool but the other company was unable to locate it. We arrived and did what we do for every leak -check every possible area to ensure we locate all leaks and solve the customer’s problem. In this case – there was no underground plumbing leak as was originally thought. The underground piping all held pressure showing no leaks on the underground piping. Upon further detection we found that there was 3 holes in the liner and a crack forming in the skimmer.
When talking to the customer – he indicated I was the first leak detection company that actually dove the pool to check for everything! That means that for over a year, he has been dealing with a leak that could have been located immediately! We were so happy to be able to help our customer find the leak and the solution to their costly problem.
We also found a leak in a pool this week that was unable to be identified for over a year as well. However, we were able to locate the leak on the underground pipe and will go back to fix the broken pipe this week. Hiring the right company, that will do a complete inspection, is important to solving the problem the first time without wasting money!
